Invest in the Future of Purdue Triangle!

During the 2024 Annual Homecoming Alumni meeting, we announced a new tax-deductible option for donating to Purdue Triangle and helping meet our long-term Mission. See below for a summary of all donation options now available.

Voluntary Alumni Dues

Purdue Triangle “Voluntary Alumni Dues” (VAD) donations allow the Chapter Alumni Association to fund programs for Alumni engagement, including emails, newsletters, the Alumni website (purduetriangle.com), Homecoming and Grand Prix events, and supporting the Actives in new member recruitment. We utilize the “GiveButter” charitable-giving website to collect these dues, which are not tax deductible.  See link to donate:    Purdue Triangle Alumni Dues

Leadership Fund - New (tax deductible)

The new Purdue Leadership and Educational Housing Fund (PLAEHF) allows tax-deductible donations for scholarships, educational programs, and Chapter House improvements apportioned by the living space dedicated to “educational” purposes. This new fund is a non-endowed Fund, where after a nominal 5% fee by National for maintaining the fund, 100% of the remaining donation is available for qualified expenses approved by the Chapter Alumni Board and meeting the educational requirements defined by the Internal Revenue Service. The PLAEHF is administered by Triangle Education Foundation (TEF) and contributions may be made directly on their website, or by directing your contribution from your checking account, your brokerage account or your IRA to the PLAEHF via Triangle Educational Foundation. (Note: for Alums over age 70 and one-half, the “Qualified Charitable Donation” option may provide tax advantages).

The following PDF files may be useful as you consider any donation:

Endowment Fund (tax deductible)

The Chapter Endowment Fund (CEF) is a restricted fund to support the educational activities of a specific chapter by proving annual grants to the chapter. These grants may be used for scholarships, educational programs, leadership development initiatives, and for improvements to educational spaces in the chapter house. The Purdue Chapter CEF is administered by The Triangle Education Foundation at Triangle National.  An annual grant of up to 5% of the fund’s value can be made to support qualified initiatives for the Chapter. Funds are dispersed to the Chapter by CEF Grant Applications and approvals. These contributions are tax deductible.

On the TEF website in “Chapter Restricted Funds” select “Purdue – The Class of 1953 Chapter Endowment Fund”

Projects

The house continues to age and the Actives are always in need of extra "stuff" for projects to keep the place looking good and functioning well.  As such, while we do not have a specific need, the AC systems are going to need to be replaced, the washers and dryers need to be updated and who know what is going to break next.

If you have the ability to make a tax deductible contribution, consider either the PLAEH fund or the Chapter Endowment Fund as a place to share some bucks.  It will be put to good use.  Again, the place to make any tax deductible donation is the Triangle Educational Foundation.

Select either the Purdue Leadership and Educational Housing Fund (where 95 cents out of every dollar will go to help the house) or the “Purdue – The Class of 1953 Chapter Endowment Fund” where the Fund will grow and 5% of the fund value each year can be used for certain educational needs of the chapter.
